This year, we’re aiming to raise $50,000 to not only continue this impactful backpack program, but also to support local outreach initiatives, develop new FOCUS Centers, and strengthen engagement with Orthodox parishes nationwide. Your gift helps us reach more children and families in need, equipping them with both practical resources and a lasting sense of hope, dignity, and connection.
The Need
Being prepared for school impacts a child’s ability to fully embrace their education. If a child doesn’t have a backpack or the proper school supplies to succeed, this can lead to struggles with self-esteem, academic performance, and attendance. This is a very prevalent and unfortunate reality for the many children experiencing economic insecurity, poverty, and homelessness in America.
